Dreamy Relaxing Solo Piano Music

* Looking In is dreamy relaxing solo piano music from my Two Days One Summer session. Improvised acoustic piano compositions recorded in two days by Jason Pittman. Jason did an excellent job in capturing the spontaneity of my performance. I divided the music from Two Days One Summer into separate categories. Looking In is relaxing, tonal and gentle with Looking Out Vol. II expressive, dreamy and adventurous. I can hear my whole music history when listening to this music. Influences of growing up in Indiana, the jazz classical fusion solo piano works of Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Lyle Mays, Rick Wakeman, Bruce Hornsby and McCoy Tyner and more.

My comments on the solo piano recording "Looking
In"

Looking In
Looking In for me is the process of creating from the unknown. When this composition happened I just played with no conscious thought of I should play something like this or that. I find music that just happens most interesting.
Where The Tiffin Meets The Maumee
Growing up and living in the Midwest of America it is hard not to have a folksy influence at times in my music. Grandma's Farm from the Reflections CD was my first piano composition where I was aware of how deep my Midwest musical twang is. My Grandma's Farm is Where The Tiffin Meets The Maumee.
Two Days One Summer
My initial purpose of this recording session was to do a summer project with my student Jason Pittman before he left for college. Looking In and Looking Out is completely improvised heart felt solo piano music that was recorded Two Days One Summer. Jason and I ended up creating special music I think is worthy of release. When I listen to this improvisation it reminds me of the over all experience we had doing the recordings Two Days One Summer.
Right Of Center
Pretty harmony and melody with a pensive quality. Kind of made me think of reflecting on a decision that may make one stray from their current comfort zone.
Cheeky Monk-ey
Cool fun swinging jazz like piece that made me think of how important Thelonious Monk is to all piano players. Moments make me think of Well You Needn't.
Clouds Drifting
Sounds of a hot sunny day watching the clouds and daydreaming.
Warm On The Outside
Reminds me of sitting on the back porch with my Grandma watching the heat waves rise across the farm fields and knowing that I will never get to that with her again. Getting old is a drag.
Morning Glories
I think it is important for all creative types to take some time to day dream. Watching humming birds feed on my morning glories while having a cup of coffee in the morning is the best daydreaming time for me.
Waiting For Fall
I do enjoy the summer but there are times in late July and August that the Indiana heat and humidity can get quite tedious.
The Way It Used To Be
Musical reflections of a simpler time.
So Many Goodbyes
My wife Margery and I lost her Dad and our oldest dog in the same year. Very Sad.
Sunday Best
There is a hymn like gospel vibe that reminded me of watching Dolly Parton and Porter Wagner before going church as a child and how that is some of the earliest music that I remember.
Day Dreaming
Day Dreaming during the heat of the summer working to recharge me creative energy.
