* Jazztronica is a collection of 13 original compositions with an expressive electronic jazz rock fusion feel. I use the keyboard sounds of the Fender Rhodes, Clavinet and MiniMoog with a few other synthesizer sounds. I play all the lead keyboard parts with no overdubs to keep musical continuity. Recorded at Latch Music Studios in 2000 and re-mastered in 2006. On this recording I am influenced by the electronic jazz rock fusion works of Herbie Hancock, Joe Zawinul, Jan Hammer, George Duke, Bill Laswell, King Crimson and Tabla Beat Science.

My recordings are now available for purchase at iTunes and Amazon and other fine download sites. See the above "My Music @" links.

My comments on the electronic jazz recording "Jazztronica"

Where You Are

This piece reminds me of Allan Holdsworth with "Level 42". I had a good time with this. Up tempo, lots of notes, in your face, Mini Moog lead.

Wh-wh-what

A retro-meets-contemporary feel. I used a Polysynth lead, with a Fender Rhodes-type solo. It makes me think of Herbie Hancock and George Duke in the late 70's.

Plock

Several years ago I got to hang out with some very cool people in Plock, Poland. While there I also had the chance to perform with Polish musicians Krzysztof Kralka and Krzysztof Misiak, along with the vocal group Anima from Belarus. This reminds me of that experience.

Jazztronica

A fun vehicle for me to improvise on. I took some of the electronica elements and fused it with my jazz thing. Aggressive and high energy.

Summer Days

Groovy, strolling type of tune with warm vocals and bass. A chance for me to explore one of my favorite polysynth sounds.

Traffic Jam

Reminds me of the race off to work, and then getting held up in traffic close to your destination. A Fender Rhodes feature.

Break It Down

Starts with a smooth groove and then breaks into thumpin' bass and screaming Mini Moog. You must learn to obey the Groove.

Doing the Hang

Reminds me of hanging out in college when a lot of David Sanborn was played on the stereo.

Blade Runner

The sound effects leading into all of the percussion, invoke images of some futuristic urban scene, similar to that of the movie Blade Runner. I played piano dinner music for Harrison Ford and gave him a copy of Jazztronica. Great fun.

The Streets of Madrid

I picture a James Bond type in Madrid with chase scenes and the whole spy movie vibe.

Hippy Bop

A retro feel using Fender Rhodes type of stuff. Kick back and get the Lava Lamp going.

K.C.

Makes me think of King Crimson. This was the wildest thing to record on the whole disc. The bass and drum groove in the A sections made beat one feel mystical.

Git Up

A groovy type of thing with some funky guitar stuff going on. I had a blast having a go at the B3 vibe.
